Paintball The sport of Paintball is played in over 40 countries by millions of men and women of all ages & lifestyles.

Whether they're homemakers, professionals or retirees, all paintballers share a love for fun, adventure & a strong competitive spirit.

In Paintball, men and women compete equally and age is not dominated by youth. Physical strength and size are not as important as intelligence and determination.

Like a game of chess, being able to think quickly and decisively is what makes you a star.

What are the rules?
Paintball combines the fun of childhood games like "tag" and "hide and seek", but is much more challenging.

In most paintball games, players divide into two teams to play "Capture the Flag". The number of players on each team varies from five to as many as 30-a-side.

The objective of the game is to go out and capture the other team's flag while protecting your own. While you are trying to capture a flag, you also try to "eliminate" opposing players by tagging them with a gelatin-cased pellet (about 1.5cm diameter) expelled from a special CO2-powered paintgun.

On impact, the paintballs break open releasing brightly coloured vegetable dye. When you have been tagged you raise your paintgun above your head, call "Hit" and walk from the field.

Games run for 15 to 20 minutes. Between games, players take a break to check equipment, plan the next game, recount the thrills and hilarious stories of the game. Win or lose, everyone has a good time and there's always the next game waiting for you.

How fit should you be?
You can play defensively and barely raise a sweat. However most players who "go for it" say it's one of the most vigorous workouts available, using muscle groups throughout the body in both aerobic and anaerobic exercise.

Is Paintball safe?
Statistics show that paintball is one of the safest activities around. At Adventure Quest Paintball Skirmish all paintguns are checked daily before and during play to ensure the speed and range of paint pellets is within recognised industry standards.

AQPS provides top of the range full-face head protection and a number of other protection options that remove the possibility of any injury.
Some paintball tags can leave a small bruise that disappears in a day or so. Players laugh these "marks of battle" off, saying it adds to the thrill of the game.

At AQPS, our experienced and professional referees, equipped with two-way radio, enforce the rules of fair play and control the sport's safety.
